| Personal History | In the year 2364 Alexandra Ortega was born as the only daughter to Josiah and Ruby Ortega. When she was twelve years old her younger sister Ashley was finally born. Alex would do almost anything for her little sister and even after leaving for Starfleet in 2382 would visit her parents and sister quite regularly. In 2386 she graduated Starfleet Academy after completing the engineering track. However, due to a lack of available positions within her chosen field Alexandra fell back on her backup option which was to be a pilot. She flipped from operations to the command division and was assigned to the USS Carmichael. Her first year on board she took a number of extra courses and completed a number of trainings to bring herself up to speed. She was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade after only one year aboard due to her dedication to learning her craft. Alexandra was excited, however, that excitement was short lived as only three months after her promotion Alexandra's parents were both killed in a shuttle accident. Alexandra became the sole caretaker for her young sister Ashley, and needed a larger ship than the Carmichael to serve aboard so that her sister could live somewhat comfortably. She submitted her request for transfer from the Carmichael and was accepted to join the USS Hooke instead. Alexandra left Earth with her younger sister and joined the Hooke later that year. |
