| Personal History | Zotras Lazol was born on Deneva in 2363 having never seen the El-Aurian system or the Delta Quadrant. His parents were refugees from the system and ultimately settled down on Deneva to live their lives. Zotras felt as if he owed the Federation something for giving him a life on Deneva. He chose to serve in Starfleet and upon reaching the age of eighteen he left home for the Academy. From 2381 until 2385 Zotras attended Starfleet Academy with a focus in Quantum Physics. Initially he had wanted to be either a scientist or an engineer, ultimately that is not what ended up happening. He was assigned to the USS Holloway, a Galaxy-class starship, as one of the Operations officers. His ability to listen, like all of his race, also made him an excellent choice to substitute teach the children on board. He spent three years aboard the Holloway before his Captain requested that he be transferred to another command. Zotras was transferred in 2388 to continue serving as an operations officer aboard the USS Hooke, he was also promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. Finally, Starfleet assigned Zotras as the teacher aboard the ship in order to help the three children with their studies. |
