| Personal History | Dexter was born in 2366, one year after his older sister Rylee. He was born on Earth in Brooklyn, New York. Both of his parents served in Starfleet, his mother an officer and his father a civilian contractor. Dexter is a born engineer and strived to go to M.I.T. once he was ready for graduation. Things didn't exactly work out the way he'd imagined it and he ended up joining Starfleet instead. In 2383 Dexter applied for the Academy and was accepted into the Mechanical Engineering program. He also took several courses in the sciences largely to learn about the systems that were used by scientists aboard starships. Dexter graduated the Academy in 2388 after four years. He was granted the rank of Ensign and assigned to the USS Hooke as one of the ship's engineering officers. |
