| Personal History | Zaimu was born in 2353 on Bajor. When she was four years old her parents managed to smuggle her off the planet. A human couple took her in and she was raised by them on Earth until 2371, she joined Starfleet Academy. Zaimu later returned to Bajor during her second year at the Academy in order to locate her family. Zaimu was able to find both of her biological parents alive and well with her father serving as an officer in the Bajoran militia. Zaimu completed Starfleet Academy in 2379 and immediately set to work with personnel who were still suffering from post-traumatic stress due to service during the Dominion War. She spent her residency at Starfleet Headquarters for one year as a counselor in training. Zaimu remained at Starfleet Headquarters after her promotion to the rank of Lieutenant JG. However, most of her work took place elsewhere. For three years Zaimu was sent regularly on different temporary duty assignments around the core worlds of the Federation. Her primary responsibility was helping severe psychological trauma suffered by various people. Zaimu’s first set of orders took her to Betazed where she helped three patients who’d had such severe mental breakdowns that it seriously damaged their telepathic abilities. After her time there she moved on to Bolus then Earth. In 2383 Zaimu was again promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Her role as a temporarily assigned counselor continued. During her time at Headquarters she worked on several papers and case studies in order to better understand how the brain works under duress or following a major trauma. She also began taking courses geared specifically toward pediatric counseling and psychology. This went on for another five years. In 2388 Zaimu was sent to Terra Nova in order to help a young boy who lost both parents in a terrible fire. The end result was a severe case of post traumatic stress. It was here that she came into contact with the USS Hooke. After Zaimu assisted in the case she came aboard the USS Hooke in order to help with a developing crisis there. Zaimu was then permanently assigned to the ship after a request by the ship’s captain, Captain Cohen. |
